Why are There Limits on a Subaru’s Mileage and Condition?

When a vehicle is traded in at a dealership, the mileage and condition help determine the price the dealership can offer to the car’s owner. The better the mileage and condition of the car, the better the price. We put rules in place regarding mileage and conditions to ensure that we can always offer the best price for the Subaru that you bring to us.

Mileage Criteria

Here’s the maximum mileage your Subaru can have when you bring it to us to participate in the Guaranteed Trade-In Program:

• Model Year 2016: 100,000 Miles
• Model Year 2017: 100,000 Miles
• Model Year 2018: 90,000 Miles
• Model Year 2019: 75,000 Miles
• Model Year 2020: 60,000 Miles
• Model Year 2021: 45,000 Miles
• Model Year 2022: 30,000 Miles
• Model Year 2023: 22,500 Miles
• Model Year 2024: 15,000 Miles

If you bring us a Subaru in any of these model years that exceeds these mileage limitations, we have to deduct $0.20 from the price for every mile over the limit.

Vehicle Conditions Criteria

The conditions criteria that your Subaru must meet to take advantage of GTP includes:

• Vehicles previously used for racing, emergency vehicle applications, and other extreme uses are ineligible for this program.
• Vehicles with odometer replacement, falsifications, or interruptions are ineligible for this offer.
• Vehicles with flood damage, frame damage, or other salvage vehicle qualities are ineligible.
• Vehicles that don’t have registration, inspection, or emissions sticker are ineligible.

Vehicle Exclusions from the Program

There are some vehicle exclusions that render certain Subarus ineligible for the GTP. Don’t worry, the Subaru you own is most likely eligible, but it’s good to be aware of these exclusions. The exclusions include the following:

• Actively leased vehicles and commercial fleet vehicles cannot participate in the GTP.
• To be eligible for this offer, the Subaru must not be owned by a bank, business, retailer, or finance company.
• The Subaru must reside in one of 49 US states (Subarus in Hawaii are ineligible). Subarus located outside the U.S. are ineligible for GTP.
• Vehicle brands other than Subaru are excluded from this offer.
